Capsule Geology

The McBride gossan is located 48 kilometres southeast of Dease Lake (bearing 120) and 32 kilometres due east of Highway 37. This prominent feature is on the west side of Peak 1979.

Early-Middle Jurassic quartz-sericite-pyrite alteration and local K-feldspar-magnetite and minor clay alteration. Early to Middle Jurassic rocks in the map area host porphyry style occurrences, local epithermal-style veins, and a laterally extensive argillic to advanced argillic alteration zone.

The gossan is in the western region of the current McBride Property (Teck). Historically, the McBride property has been an area of interest for copper, molybdenum and lead. Previous assessment work has been completed on the Pat (Cu, Mo) showings. PAT is located along the western margin of the McBride property. Cu and Mo reported in float in several locations. Mineralization occurs within intrusive rocks as disseminations in scattered altered zones and as massive siliceous veins. The PAT claims were prospected in 1972 and 113 soil samples were collected (Assessment Report 3963). Later work by Tomex Resources Limited in 1977 collected 235 soil samples, over 7 kilometres of IP, 6.6 kilometres of magnetometer survey and an unspecified amount of refraction seismic survey (Assessment Report 6323) to determine overburden depth.

Teck Resources Ltd. initiated work on the McBride Property (2011 to 2014), comprised of geophysical surveys, stream-sediment, soil and rock sampling, and geologic mapping (Assessment Reports 33331, 34265, 35038).
